The set has 15 dice.

  • 2 “Basic” &  2 “Advanced” 8-sided black dice

  • 2 “Basic” &  1 “Advanced” 8-sided red dice

  • 2 “Basic” &  2 “Advanced” 8-sided green dice

  • 1  12-sided purple perfect square die

  • 2  12-sided purple square root dice

  • 1  6-sided white die with math operations

NOTES ON THE DICE:

  • Black dice indicate addition, red indicates subtraction and green indicates multiplication.

  • On a “Basic” die the white numbers let you know that the numbers 2-9 are represented, On an “Advanced” die the yellow numbers let you know 6-13 are represented.

  • In the instructions at times it will say “set a die” This means that the Teacher will choose a number for the die and it will not change during that activity (i.e. if a Student needs to work on multiplying by 5, the teacher can “set” a die to 5 and then have the student roll the other die)

  • The opposite sides of the white numbered dice add up to 11 (hence if 3 is on one side of the die the opposite side will be 8), the opposite sides of the yellow dice will add up to 19

What do the dice colors indicate?

The set includes four charts instead of providing a calculator.  This was done intentionally as it is important that students learn the skill of using charts and not rely on a calculator.

  • 1 addition chart

  • 1 subtraction chart

  • 1 multiplication chart

  • 1 perfect square & square root chart

The set has two boxes.

  • The large box holds everything and is also designed for containing the rolled dice.

  • The smaller box has 15 sections for storing the dice.

The set is designed for the teacher to be able to tell all items are present at a glance.  This is important in a class setting where the Teacher needs to make sure that each Student is turning in a complete set.
